Video #36: Høstutstillingen 2009

The yearly art exhibition Høstutstillingen opened this Saturday. It is the 122nd exhibition, and 112 pieces are displayed. I enjoyed the total diversity of the art and especially the failed knitting projects by Kari Steinhaug, the Hangman by Svein Møxvold, Galleries by Gro Thorsen and the drawings by Sverre Malling. Other highlights: Pushwagners pieces and the pornographic drawings inspired by an IKEA catalogue by Steingrim Veum.

Video #31: The Nordic Pavilion, Venezia la Biennale 2009

I really enjoyed the Nordic Pavilion as part of the bienalle in Venice. The curators Elmgreen & Dragset combined the Danish and the Nordic pavilion houses and transformed  them into "real"residences. The first house was out for sale and the other housed a design oriented man with a big appetite for young men.

Video #30: More Biennale 2009, Giardini

This video is shot in the garden - giardini of the bienalle in Venice. Yoko Onos piece was part of the main exhibition, and other pieces were part of the different international pavilions.

Video #29: Venezia la Biennale 2009, Arsenale

We visited the la biennale in Venice, Italy some weeks ago. We spent two days crawling the exhibition, and once again it was fantastic. On the biennale website the director Daniel Birnbaum explains the title and theme: “The title of the exhibition, Making Worlds, Fare Mondi, expresses my wish to emphasize the process of creation. A work of art represents a vision of the world and if taken seriously it can be seen as way of making a world.”

Video #21: Bend it like Francis Bacon

Unfortunately, but almost in the spirit of Francis Bacon, this video is totally deformed. The Francis Bacon exhibition takes place in Tate Britain September to December. I went there this Sunday, and I tried to be discrete shooting inside the museum. That wasn't very successful as anyone can tell by the result. The exhibition was extensive and good though:)

Video #15: Andy Warhol by Andy Warhol

The Andy Warhol Exhibition has been very popular week one, and the extensive collection displayed at Astrup Fearnley museum is worth nothing less than 11 billion NOK, according to D2. This video was shot on the opening a week ago. King Midas was playing Pale Blue Eyes by Velvet Underground, Warhols assistant was reading the artists poem, Pushwagner looked like he enjoyed the show and hundreds where spotting their Warhol favorites.

Andy Warhol: Art is what you can get away with

Andy Warhol should have celebrated his 80 years birthday in august. Tomorrow an extensive exhibition with 44 Warhol pieces from 1962-84 will be displayed at Astrup Fearnley museum of modern art. The exhibitor wants us to skip all the Warhol clichés and focus on the artists personal ambition and subjective conciousness. Will check it out.

The art center Henie Onstad celebrated its 40 years with an opening of Høvikodden Live 08 yesterday. Høvikodden Live includes exhibitions and concerts, and the first exhibition is called Reality Effects: When Reality is put to work. Work by artists like Fia Backström, Matias Faldbakken and Katya Sander deals with global economy, migration and media. This video shows a concert with the Norwegian band Spunk.
